The Caliper SDK team would like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and recount some of the major things that the team has accomplished this last quarter and year.

Next year’s training dates are live on Q2Developer.com. If you haven't attended one of our trainings, talk with your Q2 Relationship Manager for more information. These events are three days and give developers the ability to learn the environment and have guided practice with the technology. Developers leave training empowered with the ability to quickly develop a custom extension for Q2 Digital Banking Platform.

Caliper SDK by the numbers

The Caliper SDK team has done twenty-nine releases and hundreds of deployments into the datacenter since August! The Tecton team has done twenty-one releases!

Caliper SDK new Features

There is a new extension tutorial, a new extension type, and a large new feature since August. The new extension tutorial is the Ardent Extension. The Ardent Extension is designed to allow developers to make a public API with access to certain SDK information. The new extension type is the Unauthenticated Tecton extension. This feature allows extension authors to create an extension that can be accessed from an unauthenticated point such as a contact form and use Tecton elements. The last major introduction since August was the ability to upload large files to UUX. This will allow developers to make an extension with robust file uploads to handle secure images and pdf files.

Celebrating the year!

This year we introduced the Q2 Marketplace. The Marketplace is our software to unite Fintechs and Financial Institutions under one platform. We effectively gave Fintechs the ability to develop in the SDK and have that be readily available for Financial institutions in the matter of days or weeks changing the landscape of the industry, landing Q2 Marketplace in the Finovate Fall Best of show in 2020!

Another Major launch this year has been the launch of Q2Developer.com. The goal was to consolidate everything a customer needs into one platform. Everything from the marketing side and documentation to Support and Deployment are integrated directly into Q2Developer.com to best suit your needs.

Team Changes

As our team and project grows our team must improve and expand in roles and management to help developers build cool new features faster and easier. A quick highlight of the changes:

Abeer Thomson – rejoins Q2 in Mid-November from PMG. Abeer has years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer and Management. Abeer has joined the team to support the Marketplace in sales, onboarding, and support. Outside of work, Abeer is a UT Alumni and enjoys doing things relating to UT.

Jeff Heaton – Jeff is going to be transitioning to management with the primary responsibility of continue to help the Tecton team, but he will have other team members on different projects reporting to him as well.

Trey Teter – Trey is transitioning from a part-time intern to a full time Software Engineer. He has primarily been focusing on improving Q2Developer.com. The primary highlight recently has been his work on how Jira tickets work. Focusing on making it easier for the SDK team and the external developer to communicate.
