SDK News Corner

Local Development Improvements

We have been consistently adding more and more features to local development. This time we added dedicated documentation on several local dev features. This documentation includes detailed information on the caliper_admin script, how to set up your development environment in Visual Studio Code, and how to connect to the sandbox online banking database from local dev. These features were available already, but now developers have comprehensive documentation on using them.

DBObject improvements

There is one new DBObjects:

PolicyData- DbObject for interacting with policies surrounding an entity (User/Customer/Group/UserRole/Company)

The Innovation Studio team also released the following additional improvements for DBObjects:

UiText - now returns ContainsMarkup Boolean on get.
Form - AccountRightsBitFlag is now correctly listed as an Integer type. HostTransactionHistoryData – create method now handles the case of missing Sequence columns.

Caliper SDK Training

The last Training of the year is coming up on November 15th-17th. The event is three days and gives developers the ability to learn about the SDK environment. The Caliper SDK team gives guided practice to learn industry best practices and practical knowledge about development on the industry-leading Caliper SDK. Additional SDK Improvements

HqCredentials object now has a customer_key to reference the stack (DB for an environment) more easily in places such as Vault.
Q2SamlResponse exists to facilitate easier SSO creation. The SSO Tutorial in the documentation has been updated to reflect this enhancement.
q2 update_installed now works even if your extension name in the repo differs from the installed name in the database.

Portal News

Portal Vault Upload

The Innovation Studio team has built a method for external developers to upload Vault secrets directly to the data center. This feature is currently in beta but is already being used by most developers uploading to Vault today. To be added to the beta testing group, please open a support case on q2developer.com.

Tecton News

Utility CSS now comes from Tecton and not UUX

All the utility CSS (i.e., Grid System, colors, sizing, and so on) is now also provided by Tecton and will be removed from the UUX payload in an upcoming release. In addition, when loading in Tecton, there is an option to not include this utility CSS by setting loadUtilities to false.

The q2-tooltip component provides the ability to include tooltip text. When used around a Tecton element, the provided tooltip text appears next to it when the element is hovered over.
